Pipeline thickness record

SAMPLE

01 / Scope & context

This example records four illustrative thickness readings on an accessible carbon-steel pipe specimen at one location set. It demonstrates reporting structure only.

Clock positions describe the specimen cross-section. No whole-asset coverage is implied.

03 / Findings & limitations

The sample readings vary between 7.84 and 8.12 mm. A lower value at P-03 is recorded for discussion. No corrosion rate, remaining life or pass/fail conclusion is calculated.

  • No real equipment was examined and no instruments were used.
  • No material verification, calibration records or qualification claims are supplied.
  • Measurements at selected locations cannot establish the condition of unexamined areas.
  • An actual report would need agreed procedures, equipment traceability, competent review and the applicable assessment basis.
